Holy Spirit – True Spiritual Testimony

The presence of God’s Spirit for our personal spiritual development and progression is always important. We cannot achieve any spiritual progression and maturity without the Spirit of God.

When a person shares an experience of the Spirit of God, which is the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost, they are giving a true spiritual testimony. This true testimony cannot come from a personal belief in Christ or a belief in the Holy Ghost because a testimony of belief is only of yourself, of what you choose to believe.

A true spiritual testimony comes from an experience with the Holy Spirit. How the Spirit has affected us, how he has helped us, what he has seeded in us and of his witness of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. This true spiritual testimony is powerful because it has comes directly from God. When the Holy Ghost speaks to any person and gives them a witness of God, it is the same as God speaking to that person, because they are as one.

Why is the Holy Ghost the same as God?

It is because they are as one, to think the same way, the same spiritual purity. The truth the Spirit says to a person is the exact same truth Heavenly Father would say. This nature of oneness was depicted by Jesus Christ when he said he can do nothing of himself, but only what the Father wills. Jesus Christ was acting in the manner the Father would do, think as the Father would think and there would be no difference, their thoughts are as one. In a similar way where some people experienced the same thought as another, usually with their spouse. Such comments as “Really, I was thinking exactly the same thing”. That is an example of “unity” created by “oneness”.

It is that power of “oneness” that works miracles in our lives and testifies of God’s mercy and grace. Without that oneness there would be no such thing as “God’s family”.

When touched by the Holy Spirit we are changed forever. Never to be the same again and I am thankful for that. The spiritual progression that I have enjoyed with Heavenly Father has forever changed my life. Sometimes it can be hard to see this in our own lives because of personal struggles, but it does gives one a proper spiritual perspective. Once a person has been changed with the help of the Holy Ghost and so long as that person continues with the Holy Ghost and accepts further change, they develop a spiritual perspective and identity, which becomes a spiritual testimony and this provides that person the ability to spiritually discern the words of another. In other words, that person can tell if someone has been touched by the Holy Ghost.

While perusing the LDS websites and their videos, I came across a video of a man who suffered a drug addiction. In the video of this person he explained how the Holy Ghost touched him and changed his life. When I heard his words, I perceived the spiritual truth because when he spoke of his spiritual experience with the Holy Spirit, the “spirit” of his words held that spiritual experience which touched me. He was truly touched by the Holy Ghost. Spiritually speaking he was changed and affected by God himself.

These spiritual events are real. As I have experienced the Spirit in my life, during my trials and hardships, during my changes and so have others. It is not exclusive to “Mormons”, because God does help others outside this Church. The person in that video I linked may be a Mormon but there is nothing read on that site that confirms it. All that is shown is that his name is Rod, but whether he is Mormon or not, does not matter in this article because I write about the power and blessings of God given through his Holy Spirit of Truth.

There are other videos similar to Rod’s on the following Link:  Others Sharing a Testimony of The Spirit

The presence of the Spirit is crucial in the life of the faithful, a disciple of God. The Spirit changes his/her countenance, how they treat others, how they speak to others. There is a softness, a grace about them, a welcoming. This is an example of how I can discern whether a person has been touched by the Spirit and those who have not. When I speak of a softness, a grace, a welcoming, I speak of the spiritual aspect, not the worldly one. There is a big difference between what the world considers as smoothness, grace and welcoming versus what God establishes in us. There is a depth and sense of sincere substance in what God establishes in us and that depth is missing from those who follow the ways of the world.

Suffice to say, when I see such a testimony as Rod’s I feel the Spirit again and it helps bring peace.

Amen.
